We have a drop in make-your-own-soap bar, informative classes and wonderful parties both for adults and kids.  

Located in Midtown Palo Alto.  Opal’z has created a unique and special experience in a neighborhood shop — the art and craft of soap making! We also teach cold processes soap making, lotion crafting, lip balms, and much more. 

One of our most popular features is soap making parties for all ages.  We have birthday parties, singles soap making parties, networking parties and family parties.

We proudly offer handcrafted soaps, lotions, body care and a full line of color and mineral make-up. We also display hand-made jewelry and other crafts from local artisans. 

We also carry ingredients to make your own bath and body products at home.  From our fine soap base to molds, colorants and butters, waxes and oils, we have what you need to do it yourself!

Paper Making Workshop this Friday!


Calling all artists, crafters, and creative souls! Opalz is offering a paper making workshop on 8/6/10.


Drop in anytime between 11am and 3pm to make your own paper for only $20 per person.


We will give you as much or as little guidance as you need, but the most important thing is to allow your creativity to flow.  Whether you drop in for an hour or an afternoon you will leave with beautiful creations. *


Bring your kids, bring a friend, or come on your own! You can even leave your kids for an hour or two and get some errands done  while we give them a hands on look at the art of paper making.

From 280 or 101 take Oregon Expressway (west from 101) or Page Mill Road (east from 280).  Continue to Middlefield Road.  Go south on Middlefield.  Turn left on Colorado and a left into the first driveway.


The address is 719 Colorado Ave, but it is hidden behind the office building that is 711 Colorado.  It is easier to find from the back so after you turn into the driveway continue straight ahead and underneath an overhang to a big parking lot in the back.  Opal’z is the little 2 story “IKEA blue” building right next to the overhang you passed through.

We are open Wednesday through Sunday from 10-4, but often much later than 4PM.  Give a call if you can't make it before 4PM and we can usually arrange later hours.
